Learning Schedule & Club Syllabus:
Wednesday Evening Tai Chi - Qigong - Relaxation Tuition
The Tai Chi Health Centre training sessions are held every Wednesday Evenings at Cliff Park Middle School. Orde Ave, off Lowestoft Road. Gorleston, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, Nr the James Paget Hospital. Sessions start at 7pm - 9pm (All Levels) with free time practice from 6pm to 7pm. Age limits 16 years plus.
The next annual intake will be 6th January 2010, this foundation course is the first phase of the ongoing TCQHC learning syllabus covering the clubs three main elements of Tai Chi, Qigong and Relaxation. Contact us now and book your place.
Tai Chi-Qigong Introduction course: our next 11 week Introduction Course starts on 7th October 2009. This is a very popular course covering all aspects of the club. Your instructors will be Colin & Mitzi Orr. On completion you can decide on whether you would like to continue your learning in the new year. Contact us to register your interest and book your place.
The Monday and Friday Rejuvenation Clubs & Monday Tai Chi Club
The Monday & Friday Rejuvenation Clubs: Relaxation and easy Qigong movements for all ages, revitalize your internal energy and enjoy yourself. 10:30 - 11:30 at the Methodist Church Hall Gorleston and the John Green Institute Belton nr Great Yarmouth. The Monday Tai Chi Club. Tai Chi for All, Gentle soft movements to suit all ages, relax and enjoy learning this internal art. Relieve stress, experience relaxation and inner calm, breathe more smoothly and deeply, ideal for beginners as well as the more experienced. Come along and make new friends. 11:30 - 12:30 at

The TCQHC Five Element Step Syllabus - Guidelines

The TCQHC learning program encompasses progressive stages based on the five elements: Fire, Earth, Wood, Water and Metal incorporating the colours respectively: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue and White based on the based on the Chinese characters mounted on the TCQHC badge.
There is one extra merit stage for assistant instructors indicating the Qi element and colour purple.
ENROLMENT STAGE: Step One and Centre Badge. (Automatic on joining)

INTERMEDIATE STAGE: Step Two.

To achieve this stage you should have covered the following:
Yang Cheng-fu Taiji Long Form
8 Strands of Silk Brocade Qigong - Baduanjin
18 Tai Chi Qigong set - Shibashi
Fragrant Buddha Qigong - Level One
Zhang Zhong 5 Postures & Three Circle Qigong
Understanding the basic principles of Yin & Yang
Comprehend the three basic elements covering Tai Chi, Qigong & Relaxation.
ADVANCE STAGE: Step Three

Refinements and Advanced Yang Cheng-fu Form Movement
Appreciate Martial Applications
Completed the Yang Taiji Stick Form

Completed the First 64 set of Dayan Wild Goose Movements
Appreciate the Dayan Qigong Accupoints
Understanding and applying Sung' and 'Fa-Jing'
INSTRUCTOR STAGE: Step Four

TCQHC senior students may only apply for this stage and then must pass the selection process by the Chief Instructors-Co Directors. In addition they must have club outstanding attendance and commitment, and hold the Merit Badge for Assistant Instructor. Be conversant with and understand the TCQHC Terms & Conditions, Aims & Objectives
This Instructor's Stage is achieved in ‘module skills' where a student qualifies in a specific module category:
Module 1. Yang Cheng-fu Long Form.
Module 2. Yang Taiji Stick Form.
Module 3. Yang Taiji Broad Sword Form.
Module 4. Yang Walking Stick Form.
Module 5. First 64 of Dayan Wild Goose.
Module 6. General Qigong covering:
(7a) Eight Strands of Silk Brocade,
(7b) Fragrant Buddha.
(7c) Eighteen Tai Chi Qigong set.
(7d) 5 Posture Zhang Zhong -standing still Qigong.
Module 8. Observed social skills.
Instructor module competence must include: Time served with club, detailed module knowledge, good teaching/coaching technique in the foundation and intermediate steps and present a ten minute presentation on their chosen module.
CHIEF INSTRUCTOR STAGE: Step Five

Element Metal / Colour White
To achieve this stage you should have covered the following:
Completed the Instructors Modules.
Aquire a Recognised Teacher Qualification such as Adult Further Education, City & Guilds 7306 / NVQ level 3 or equivalent certification
Knowledge of the following:
Traditional Chinese Medicine, Histograms & Hexagrams hence the I Ching Book of Change and the five element theory
Understand and apply Qi Transference Therapy
Second 64 of Dayan Wild Goose.
Yang LuChan Taiji Long Form
Yang Double Edge Sword Form
Emergency First Aid.
Devise and teach his own session schedule program in line with TCQHC guidlines.
Able to apply administration skills at club level.

This stage is by appointment only. Once a student has achieved the Intermediate stage and shown club commitment they are entitled to wear the assistant instructors merit badge after the prescribed trial period.
