Qigong - Online Tuition

The Fragrant Buddha Xiang Gong level one tuition:

Lesson extracts have been taken from our Fragrant Buddha DVD, click here for further details.

Before starting your Qigong practice, completely relax the whole body, stand shoulder width apart or sit comfortably, place the tip of the tongue on the roof of the mouth just behind the front teeth and breathe slowly through the nose at all times, if standing bend the knees slightly into a comfortable stance and smile inwardly. This set of Qigong movements should be practiced with a positive mind as all qigong should be practiced.
The format of this tuition is as follows: The title of each posture followed by one or two guideline photos with text guidance. All movements should be soft, flowing and continuous without intent.
When practicing the Fragrant Buddha Qigong you should not try to visualise or guide your internal energy, but let the Qi flow naturally at all times.

Some Advice before you start your Qigong:

If you have a heart problem or high blood pressure you are advised not to raise the hands higher than the chest.

Repetitions should be 36-54 times. If you are a newcomer then do less to begin with gradually increasing the number over a period of time.

There should be no intent in the Qi guidance, let it happen naturally do not force the breath but breathe soft and naturally. Move the hands together no more than 45 degrees either side of the body, do not turn at the waist. Your shoulders remain relaxed and your back is straight but not rigid.

Everybody has their own limitation in movement, work to 'your' limitation at all times until you are comfortable then you can extend the repetition Practice sitting or standing and ideally play your favourite background music and just relax at all times.

A positive review from Mark Rance customer who brought the Fragrant Buddha Qigong DVD production:

"Great DVD, just followed it threw, and the focus on the hands is very energising, makes alot of sense to wash it into the body afterwards. I've done a little tai chi and bagua so the sensation isn't entirely new to me, but i was very surprised that such simple elegant movements could produce similar energy."
